The quarter-turn knobs allow for quick locking and unlocking without the use of tools. The ON/OFF markings and perceptible "click" indicate the locked and unlocked states. Red indicator band is visible when fastener is in the OFF (unclamped) position.

The varioSCAN product line is ideal for applications requiring f-theta lenses, as well as applications for which these costly lenses are unavailable. In the second case, the focusing system provides a plane focusing surface in addition to z-adjustment of the focus. Besides the processing of three-dimensional surfaces, classic fields of application requiring z-axis manipulation include additive manufacturing (3D printing) and laser cutting. In many of these applications, there is a trend towards higher laser powers, the use of ultrashort pulse lasers and the demand for improved image quality and positioning accuracy.

The SU Type has a length of 235mm and rubber bellows. The larger MU Type is 360mm in length and has a reinforced ball joint with a large collar. Both use serrated washers instead of flat washers to reduce slippage and increase stability of the center joint.

The added anti-vibration boring bars with C6 PCS machine side connection are suitable for up to 9xD boring depths, allowing direct assembly on the machine spindle or turret without the need for adapters. The boring bars can also minimize chatter as an integrated vibration damper suppresses unwanted vibrations during machining.

In addition to standard VBO and VBN barrel-shaped end mills for productive finish machining of curved surfaces, TungMeister’s new VBL lens-shape milling head has a convexly shaped cutting edge on the tool’s tip, instead of on the periphery, providing a good solution for machining a complex bottom surface. These end milling heads enable more material removal with fewer passes in 5-axis machining.

The GrindSmart 660XW is a 6-axis tool and peel grinding machine allows the user to utilize cost-effective and advanced  lean manufacturing principles; termed as “Ultra-Lean Grinding Process.” The machine includes a 6•position wheel changer and linear motors on all axes. It features a traveling high-speed workhead. According to the transfer impedance measurement test by CESI EMC Laboratory based on German Military standards VG 95214-10 and VG 95214-11, Mencom’s EMC series enclosures with dedicated electromagnetic shields provide additional improvements with better shielding attenuation than their standard metal enclosures that already provide a decent level of shielding attenuation.

The OpenVINO toolkit plugin from MVTec is based on the new HALCON AI Accelerator Interface (AI²). This generic interface allows customers to use supported AI accelerator hardware for the inference part of their deep learning applications – quickly and conveniently. Such special devices are widely used especially for applications in the embedded environment, but also exist more and more in the PC environment. By abstracting the deep learning models from specific hardware, the AI Accelerator Interface is particularly future-proof. In addition to plugins provided by MVTec, the integration of customer-specific AI accelerator hardware is also possible.

Manufacturing high quality, high performance tools requires the Total Indicator Runout to be perfect or minimal for overall tool life and surface finish. Runout on blanks before grinding can be achieved by either spending a certain amount of time for work holding setup or alternatively, compensating the runout in software. The latest software update of ToolRoom has an option to apply complete tool runout compensation when needed.

The rotary tables use low-cogging frameless and slotless torque motors to enable this excellent geometric performance. Different designs allow use in horizontal, vertical or any orientation. Air bearings guarantee a virtually unlimited service life with no wear, and zero required maintenance. As with all other PI linear air bearings and stages, the rotary tables are clean room compatible and requires no lubrication. For transmissive light applications, the A-688 direct drive rotary table with large aperture is available.
