Innovative Products of America (IPA) announces the #8150 4.5" diamond grinding wheel. The disc's innovative, 3D contour with topside abrasive coating and thin-profile edge allows for cutting, back cutting, gully cutting and bead finishing with one wheel.

Allied Machine & Engineering announces the launch of the Wohlhaupter Tool-Architect software. Tool-Architect is a configurator for modular system tools that allows customers to virtually build customized tools online using Wohlhaupter parts, now part of Allied’s solutions for holemaking and finishing challenges.

Amada Miyachi America Inc. announces the availability of the LMF70-HP, an addition to its LMF series of lasers. The 70 watt (W) LMF70-HP is ideal for welding small components and thin metals up to 0.01-inch (0.25 mm) thick. It is particularly well suited for welding battery tabs to cans (two thin sheets of metal), but can also weld thin wires (thermocouples, guidewires, etc.). In addition to welding, the unit is capable of engraving, deep engraving and cutting of metal, plastic welding and general-purpose, high-speed marking.

Bluco Corp.’s modular fixturing system is for fixturing low-volume/high-mix work. Using an alternating pattern of dowel and tapped holes, fixture plates are accurate to +/- 0.0004” between centers.

Slater Tools’ new indexable punch broach toolholder facilitates punch or index broaching on a CNC lathe or mill. When rotary broaching is not an option due to the need to remove full form, excessive material and/or depth, static punch broaching is the preferred method of CNC broaching.

Wayne Products releases the Mini-Skimmer R.S., a belt-type oil skimmer that collects over a quart of oil per hour despite its tiny housing that measures just 3”x3”x2.75”. Designed as an easy-to-use solution for small machine shops, Mini-Skimmer R.S. skims unwanted tramp oils from coolants, but can rest easily with the flip of a switch once its job is complete.

SideWinder vises mount directly to the back of 6- or 8-inch Kurt vises and make an ideal setup when configured in tandem with two or more vises. The Kurt SideWinder vise provides vertical workholding without interfering with an existing host vise or the machine spindle.

Makino announces its newest addition to the nx-series, the a120nx horizontal machining center. As the largest machining platform within the nx-series to date, this machine is built to take on oversized structural components for industrial equipment, diesel engines and semiconductor manufacturing, while delivering high levels of speed and accuracy.

The Mazak VTC-805E vertical traveling-column machining center brings high versatility and productivity to those shops that need to tackle long and/or heavy parts.
