Based on a technology platform similar to the existing CoroMill® 345, this new milling concept offers a 40 percent lighter cutter body with shim protection and a high number of inserts for secure and stable machining, even in vibration-prone overhang applications. The 89.5-degree approach angle enables the multi-edge cutter to work close to the fixture, which not only greatly improves machine utilization, but also ensures a longer tool life with less scrap.
As the world’s smallest digital fine boring tool with a peripheral cutting edge, the unbalanced 420 (410) series has a diameter range of 0.787 inches – 1.142 inches (20.00 millimeters – 29.00 millimeters). The 465 (464) boring heads offer automatic self-balancing and bore diameters from 1.142 inches – 8.071 inches (29.00 millimeters – 205.00 millimeters). These boring heads have a special design to minimize the residual imbalance produced by insert holder displacement.
The system comes with a choice of two different touch probes. The UWP45 is a 45mm diameter touch probe ideal for multi-axis machining centers and compatible with the Marposs T25, TT25, TT30 and T25P probe ranges. The UWP60 is a 60mm diameter touch probe that is suited for use on large scale workstations and vertical lathes. It can be configured for use with Marposs T25, TT25 and T25P probes with extensions up to one meter in length.
What makes the CoroMill Dura stand out compared to the former versatile concept and competitor end mills is its WhisperKut technology. The CoroMill Dura is available from two to seven flutes with 1-4×D cutting length, with and without a chip divider. The end mills can be reconditioned up to three times to original specifications.
Built for difficult applications involving ISO P, M, K and S materials, the cutters offer application-specific sub- family designs featuring left or right-hand helixes, half- or full-effective teeth options, two front insert and many radii choices for long tool life and maximum chip evacuation. Reliable and user-friendly, the Helical SN8-13 also eliminates incorrect indexing of front and helix inserts, reducing operator error.
LMX linear motors comprise a metal track with multiple embedded rare earth magnets, and a coil assembly supported by a customer-supplied guideway. A key feature of the motors is that they are designed to operate with a comparatively large air gap of 1 mm, to reduce the impact of mounting tolerances on performance characteristics. For most machine tool applications, the track is held stationary and the coil assembly is free to move – but converse mounting arrangements are also practicable, with similar performance attributes.
Mencom offers a compact enclosure series engineered for ease of assembly and simplicity in mind. These fully metallic enclosures are available in size 32.13 exclusively and their hoods are designed in one piece for any wiring combination with a robust stainless-steel lever. They can be served as EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) enclosures and are corrosion resistant thanks to the conductive layer of galvanic zinc plating on the surface.
The TC620 Supreme thread milling cutters utilize patent-pending Walter DeVibe technology with an anti-vibration land to effectively suppress vibrations and allow higher cutting parameters, while contributing to other TC620 Supreme advantages like a high level of process reliability and easy handling due to extremely infrequent radius correction.
Part handling is fast and easy with the OptoCloud EDU. Its design features a Z-axis that allows the laser heads to automatically move out of the handling area, leaving a large space for workpiece handling and removing risk of sensor damage due to handling error.
IMSce for Mastercam combines IMS G-code emulation with the ModuleWorks simulation and post processing technology to provide a G-code parsing solution that connects directly to Mastercam. The solution enables Mastercam users to simulate and verify G-code including controller variables, subprograms, expressions and canned cycles for a wide range of machine tools before the workpiece is mounted on the machine.
The cartridge replaces the traditional 5-piece consumable stackup with a perfectly aligned part that lasts longer and delivers extended high-definition cut quality. It makes consumable management and assembly much easier, and eliminates errors caused by incorrect handling or installation.
The 3D Gripping Point Detection technology is a highlight of HALCON 22.11. It can be used to robustly detect surfaces on any object that are suitable for gripping with suction. In contrast to classic bin-picking applications, this new technology eliminates the need to train object surfaces. This means that no prior knowledge of the specific objects is required, enabling a much faster and therefore, more cost-efficient implementation of typical bin-picking applications, such as those in the logistics industry.
The line of high-precision ball splines is ideal for high-speed operation in compact spaces such as laboratory automation or semiconductor pick-and-place assembly. They can automate functions that a human might otherwise perform, like opening the cover of a sample jar and pouring it in a test tube. And they are especially cost-effective in industrial robotic applications that require high-speed, precise integration of rotary and linear motion without the wide freedom of movement of robots.
The outer race of the ball bearing is embedded in the POM plastic of the guide roller during the molding process. Each roller is machined to precise dimensions for an exact runout, which makes cylindrical and convex shaping of the running surface possible. Convex rolling surfaces compensate for alignment errors by preventing them from running on corners or edges.
Like other SmartSYNC torches, these new torches automatically set the correct amperage, air pressure, and operating mode upon installation of the consumable cartridge and allow the operator to change the cartridge without returning to the power supply. The torches also come with Hypertherm’s FastConnect™ feature to make switching between torches fast and easy.
CorShield VpCI-220E Films and Bags combine the latest film technology with the most effective corrosion protection for metal products. Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors protect multi-metals (aluminum, carbon steel, galvanized steel, and copper) from all types of corrosion including rust, tarnish, stains, and white rust.
Tungaloy has expanded its economical, double-sided negative insert line with the -28 chipbreaker. Featuring a pressed-in chipbreaker geometry with a large inclination angle on the sharp cutting edge, the -28 generates free cutting action with superior chip control. In addition, a negative insert design provides the cutting edge with strength and reliability when machining parts with heavy cutting conditions at varying D.O.C.
The primary focus for IMSpost and IMSverify 8.4 was improved performance and enhanced user productivity through user interface enhancements. Updates to IMSverify include: New variable pane for display and monitoring of controller variables, including a new watch window. Debugging of subprograms.
In a field study on an aluminum cylinder head, the application of the extended drill was able to achieve a tool life of 2,000 parts per drill when machining holes of 8 mm diameter at 5,000 RPM in the cut and a feed rate of 1200mm/minute. Prior to the deep hole gundrill operation, there were two twist drill passes with the gundrill connecting the center portion of this feature in the head.
The belt grinder features two belt heads ensuring the ultimate flexibility to handle platen grinding, contact wheel grinding and even slack back grinding. Its design enables roughing to intermediate grinding to blending as well as final finishing and polishing.
