For automation products such as machine tools, a digital twin is a virtual model that uses simulation, real-time data acquisition/analysis and machine learning techniques to allow full evaluation of a machine’s dynamic performance before constructing a physical prototype. The same technology can also be employed for customer presentations, virtual commissioning and operator training purposes – and all well before the actual machine itself has even been built.

With the highly dynamic, EtherCAT-based AX8000 servo system, new setpoint values can transfer every 62.5 μs from the motion controller in the Industrial PC to the servo drive, along with μs motor current scans. Comparable control systems usually operate with a cycle time of only 1 ms. Now the AX8000 firmware also supports oversampling technology, which is well known from Beckhoff EtherCAT I/O devices. This feature enables multiple samples of process data within a communication cycle with an oversampling factor of up to 128 and the transfer of all data in an array via EtherCAT.

The paper offers effective protection to ferrous and nonferrous metals, eliminating the need to stock a variety of papers for different metal types. All that is needed is to wrap items in the paper and fold the edges together, using adhesive tape as needed to hold paper in place. The VpCI® coating on the paper vaporizes, reaching all metal surfaces within the package to provide complete corrosion protection with a very thin, very effective VpCI® layer that does not alter product appearance or require removal before further finishing or use. Effective protection is available on both sides of the paper to eliminate packaging guesswork.

With 360 degree rotation range and 20N load capacity, the RS-40 V7 stage boasts high angular velocity of 20°/sec and minimum incremental motion and repeatability of 87 µrad. The 110, M-111 and M-112 vacuum linear stage series provide travel ranges of 5, 15 and 25mm and are suitable for vacuum up to 10-6 hPa.

This Grieve inert atmosphere oven features 12” insulated walls, all interior seams welded gas-tight, an air jacket on the inner oven for cooling, 16” high integral oven stand, 16-gauge 304 stainless steel interior and enamel-painted aluminized steel exterior.  The oven is reinforced for 2000 lb. loads, allowing the customer’s part rack to sit on the oven work space floor.

The Gear Calculator App works online and offline, it runs on pcs/notebooks as well on mobile devices with Android and iOS. The App must be connected online to install future updates. Please note that you will need a current browser/version to view the Gear Calculator App. When starting the App for the first time it is necessary to register and log into “MyGleason” (for both the PC/notebook version as well as the Mobile App).

With this collaboration, Mastercam users can download both inch and metric SGS round solid carbide cutting tool libraries from the Mastercam Tech Exchange. The native Mastercam 3D tool databases are fully compatible with Mastercam 2020 and subsequent releases. Senturion is a powerful dust collector that has been optimized for the volume and type of dust produced by fiber laser cutting. Fiber lasers produce large volumes of very fine particulates moving at high velocities within the laser enclosure. This dust can become deeply embedded in the filter media, making it difficult to pulse off and causing premature filter loading.

The ImageIR® 8300 hs extends this series with a new generation of high-speed infrared cameras. Combining the image format of (640 × 512) IR pixels with the exceptionally high frame rate of 1,004 Hz sets new standards. It allows thermographic images of excellent quality, even of extremely fast moving objects or highly dynamic thermal processes. Thus, exactly the moment that matters is captured with absolute precision, displayed with high resolution and precisely measured thermally.

Drilling flat-bottom holes is a challenge. So is drilling on inclined or curved surfaces, drilling into cross holes, drilling stacked plates, and drilling into cross holes, stacked plates and castings and other rough surfaces. Not anymore. Leveraging the success of its KenTIP FS modular drill, Kennametal has developed a unique insert geometry (FEG) that streamlines many of these types of applications and simplifies the drilling of counterbores and pilot holes as well.

The engineered solutions offer three versatile mounting options. Direct-to-table uses t-slots, center pin and timing key, and is secured using t nuts and Socket Head Cap Screws (SHCS). QLS accurately locates and clamps the pyramid to a base element, such as subplates, using a combination of QLS shoulder screws and SHCS. Quick-Loc™ pallet systems use pull studs (spaced at the industry-standard 96mm pattern) to locate and clamp in a single step. 

Okuma’s MCR-S roughs and finishes press dies in one setup and is designed for heavy duty machining of process-intensive press dies. It features full 5-face and 5-axis machining and is excellent for die repair work. The MCR-S accommodates a wide range of stamping die requirements making it an ideal fit for the automotive and aerospace industries. It can easily handle hardened cast iron, nonferrous and exotic materials.

The GTS system enables cutting tools to be shared among multiple machines, minimizing redundancy and eliminating the need to reserve a cutting tool for a single machine. This generates cutting tool cost savings and minimizes operator interaction with  cutting tool changes, reducing labor expense and eliminating tooling loading errors. Cutting tool sharing also permits reduction in the size of machine tool magazines. When implementing the GTS system, its new modular design results in shorter delivery, installation, and commissioning times, as well as hardware cost advantages.

CorrTube® is environmentally friendly, biodegradable, and doesn’t contain any nitrites, phosphates, silicates, or other hazardous compounds. The tubes are very easy to use: simply match the appropriate diameter of the tube to the size of your part. The VpCI® coating on the inside of the tube vaporizes, reaching all metal surfaces to provide complete corrosion protection.

The compact outer dimensions of the Type RSX enable the realization of space-saving designs. It is available in a standard Type RSX-M and a Type RSX-WM with a longer overall LM block length, wider width and higher rated load and permissible moment than the Type RSX-M. The outer dimensions of the Type RSX-M range from 8mm to 16mm (H), 17mm to 32mm (W) and 23.4mm to 42.9mm (L). The outer dimensions of the Type RSX-WM range from 9mm to 16mm (H), 25mm to 60mm (W) and 31mm to 55.5mm (L).

In clamping tests, Carbinite has been shown to nearly double the gripping strength at equal clamping force.  Customers report increased grip and longer tool life.  Utilizing a process called Electro Spark Deposition (ESD), Carbinite can be added to hard or soft jaws after they are milled to customer requirements.  The wear resistant carbide alloys display exceptional bond strength without annealing or distortion. 

The new Starrett AVX550 Multi-Sensor System features dual optical systems that work in tandem to measure a broad range of features. The primary zoom lens enables small intricate features to be inspected with high precision and resolution of up to 2 microns. A secondary large field-of-view camera is equipped with a telecentric lens that can simultaneously inspect large areas of a part, or an entire part itself. A broad range of zoom options also means that measurement configurations can be custom tailored to meet specific application requirements, and eliminates the need to change lenses or re-calibrate the system.

The PeopleCounter (PeCo) is a SensorApp developed by SICK that enables anonymous data processing and differentiation of people from objects over large detection areas. Based on the hardware of the MRS1000 3D LiDAR sensor, measurement data generates as a point cloud. The integrated PeopleCounter app reliably identifies people using their contours. This means it only counts people above the height of 1.4 meters, while objects are not counted.
