On the new TURNPWR, a 12.1” high-resolution display boasts a screen layout that is clearly arranged and user friendly.  Preview graphics in the editor illustrate the individual machining steps for programming the contour as well as corresponding tool path generated using only dimensions pulled from a production drawing.  It also accepts DXF files.

This system uses a customized RFID read station and an intuitive interface tailored to the user’s tool load and unload process. The ToolConnect HMI displays all user-specified tool and process info, along with a tool image to easily verify that the correct tool is being loaded. The system can automatically index to the correct magazine position for further error-proofing of the process on some machine tools.

Educational content on the new Online Safety Resource includes Safety Data Sheets which are accessed by entering the UPC code found on Norton products. Safety Guides for Norton’s most popular products such as Grinding Wheels, Portable Wheels and Coated/ Non-Woven Abrasives are offered. Northfield’s engineering team has developed a brand-new chucking system that requires NO air tubes or hoses. This Pressure-Lok™ air chuck is charged with air by a special handle and holds air pressure for over 2 weeks. These chucks can be mounted to rotary tables with no thru-hole, tombstones, pallets, transfer systems, etc.  

Boasting a maximum payload of 11 kg (24.3 lb), an external grip range of up to 74 mm (2.91 in) and a gripping force of between 20-140 N, the versatile 2FG7 can handle heavy, bulky payloads with ease. Smaller than OnRobot's RG2 and RG6 grippers –and yet more powerful than both –the 2FG7's dimensions (156 x 158 x 180 mm/6.14 x 6.22 x 7.08 in) make it the perfect gripper for use in small work envelopes, which is a major bonus in busy manufacturing facilities where space is at a premium, and in applications with tight quarters for maneuvering.

CeramiX HX5 Grade succeeds in matching the performance characteristics of CBN with the added benefit of being a less expensive product compared to CBN. A special TiAlN coating offers excellent wear resistance for hard turning applications.

The sharpness of these end mills reduces the occurrence of burrs, produces remarkable surface finish, and improves tool life to outperform the competition. With FullStream nozzles, the liquid is supplied directly into the body of the nozzle creating a swirling action within a vortex chamber. This vortex produces the desired spray pattern when the machined nozzle breaks the liquid surface tension, and exits the orifice in a round, controlled spray angle.

The simultaneous 5-axis machining of the HN80E-5X results in improved cycle times and machined surfaces of complicated and 3D curved components. A quick and easy 5-axis compensation function ensures high accuracy over extended periods. The Greenleaf Quick-Change Toolholders conform to ISO 26623, utilize standard components, and are designed to maximize tool life in carbide and ceramic turning applications.

The thick CrAlN coating provides high hardness and oxidation resistance solving issues related to machining materials such as: 304SS, 17-4PH, and Nitinol. High speed machining applications with ST4 inserts have proven results with stable machining, excellent surface finishes, and extended tool life.

As an EtherCAT device, the AMI812x integrated servo drive can be placed directly on the machine without a control cabinet and without upstream I/O, enabling the implementation of highly compact machines without control cabinets. At market introduction, the AMI812x series includes three overall lengths in the F2 flange code with standstill torques from 0.5 to 1.1 Nm. The AMI812x is optionally available with a multi-turn absolute encoder without battery backup and with a backlash-free holding brake. With an additional sealing ring, the servo drive achieves a high IP65 protection rating and is suitable for all motor installation positions. STO safety functionality can be integrated as an option via TwinSAFE Logic.

Powered by Artec 3D‘s AI neural engine, users can obtain sharp 3D scans with a resolution of up to 0.2 mm. Trained on hundreds of thousands of carefully selected samples, the engine’s neural network detects familiar patterns, surface details and shapes. This allows the 3D scanner to reconstruct a higher number of polygons per frame, resulting in 3D data that’s both denser and higher quality. Now, the desired HD density can be selected from a standard 1X density up to 36X for Eva  (~3 mln polygons per frame) and 64X for Leo (~5 mln polygons per frame).

Available in diameter sizes ranging from 0.562-1.375 in. and 16-42 mm with 2, 3, 4 x Dc, the new drill delivers maximum process reliability with simple and efficient chip removal, two coolant channels and polished flutes. Superior protection against friction is provided by the D3120 hardened and polished surfaces. This combination of surface hardness and improved coolant flow results in reduced wear on the drill surface.
