Garden tool maker optimizes finishing process
Improved productivity, increased production capacity, better quality and lower costs were the demands of a leading garden tool manufacturer when they invested in a mass finishing system for deburring and polishing of garden shear knives. Rösler met this challenge.
The first four-flute drill on the market!
The CERATIZIT WTX-HFDS solid carbide drill with Dragonskin coating achieves new levels of quality, hole tolerance, and positioning accuracy, with low burr formation while entering and exiting the hole. The core stability of the drill is retained with optimum cooling via four internal spiral coolant holes making the drilling process safe and effective.
Five questions to ask when machining threads
While a user may encounter several challenges when machining threads, asking five questions can aid in building the foundation for a successful application.
8024 Modular Fixturing Series
The system was imagined for customers in industries such as agriculture, mining, locomotive, oil & gas or defense who routinely deal with large parts. Before today, the only way to take advantage of modular fixturing's versatility, accuracy and productivitywas to use a larger number of smaller components.
HN800-V HMC Machining Center
The HN800-V is uniquely built with the rigidity and accuracy necessary to perform ultra-precise contour machining and boring of components with critical tolerances. The world's first machining center to feature hardened and ground inverted V-shaped slideways, the HN800-V achieves volumetric accuracy of .00005" per foot. The V-shaped slideway system converts the weight of the column unit into restraining force on the sliding unit.
Auto-Take Up System
the PRAB Auto-Take Up automatically monitors tension using load cells on chain conveyors, including steel belt conveyors, drag conveyors, the PRAB ScrapVeyor, and more. The system is wired to a PLC control panel, which monitors tension and automatically tightens the belt to eliminate manual adjustments and downtime. It can be added to new conveyors or retrofitted onto existing models. If retrofitted onto an existing conveyor, the system can be operated using that conveyor's original control panel. Automatic adjustments can be scheduled to be completed during low production times or shift changes.
DZ 28 Twin-Spindle Vertical Machining Centers
This machining center series can be flexibly configured to completely machine larger-sized structural parts which require maximum surface quality and dimensional accuracy, as well as high production rates and minimal downtime. Users will benefit from the machine's compact layout, available robot or gantry automation, and fully independent Z and X-direction spindles
Robotics Results: RoboJob-USA Turn Assist Essential i, Schunk 3-finger gripper on Haas ST-30
This video supplement to the Robotics Results column in the October 2021 issue of Cutting Tool Engineering magazine features the RoboJob-USA Turn Assist Essential i model with a Schunk three-finger gripper on a Haas Automation St-30 CNC machine. The setup helped a shop increase productivity 48%. n
Increase profits by recycling metalworking fluids
Fluid recycling is valuable. Companies can save up to 60 percent of the coolant concentrate by removing tramp oils and solids through filtration.
XK10 Alignment Laser System Software
This latest release of software enables the XK10 to take measurements at multiple points along each rail. The benefit of an increased number of measurement points is that the straightness of each rail is also measured at the same time. Parallelism between the rails can then be determined by looking at the difference in straightness at each point, giving a more accurate picture than a measurement of the overall angle between rails.
Absolute Scanner AS1 Laser
The Absolute Scanner was developed from the ground up for smart manufacturing applications that require high-speed scanning within automated cells and assembly structures located in-line, near-line or in the quality room. The AS1 delivers scanning accuracy within 50 microns in a 60 meter volume, handheld or automated, with an Absolute Tracker AT960 laser tracker. For small to medium size parts or products, the scanner unit can be mounted to any current-generation Absolute Arm 7-axis system for scanning and hidden area inspection with scanning accuracy of 16 microns within a measurement volume from 2 - 4.5 meters.
CNC Offset Manager Software
CNC Offset Manager runs on Windows and is networked to the Mitsubishi Electric CNC via Ethernet. It also has a feature that allows other automation software or systems to interface with the CNC to fully automate the offset management process, or make the changes from a central cell-management software. This allows software companies to interface their software with Mitsubishi Electric CNC for automation and remote offset management, and allows manufacturers with CNC equipment to automate their machine-tending CNC cells and testing or measuring equipment, or centralize the offset management operation so operators and floor workers can work more efficiently.
