Accure·tec AC001 Vibration Damping Adaptor
Accure·tec adaptors are ideally suited for the Walter Xtra·Tec® XT milling cutter range. This makes the system highly versatile. For example, for components with deep cavities in aircraft construction and aerospace industry in general, as well as the automotive, energy, die/mold, and general metalworking industries. Users can benefit from both the vibration damping and a system with low noise levels. n
Multi-tasking machining for mold-making
Fast turnaround times and increasingly complex components are standard requirements in the mold industry.. To meet these growing customer demands with the greatest possible efficiency, high-performance 5-axis machining centers are a must for manufacturers.
U.S. manufacturing indicators reveal growth through December
As the overall U.S. manufacturing industry continued to rebound in November 2020, the cutting tool sector found itself on the downside of an economic rollercoaster. That said, optimism for the year ahead continues to grow.
United Grinding expands outreach initiatives
Further expanding its outreach to manufacturers and the greater Dayton, Ohio, region as a whole, United Grinding North America of Miamisburg, Ohio, launched a web-based video series, initiated a scholarship program for local students and prepared an online presentation that conveys the need for digitization in today’s manufacturing world. “United Grinding North America prides itself […]
Managing projects with ERP software
MaTech managed production for years using a project management software and a variety of Excel spreadsheets and manual processes. The company upgraded to an integrated production management system. The ERP software is from Global Shop Solutions.
Software provides significant time and cost savings
Founded in 1976 by George McNab to serve the growing demand for precision aerospace components, Mac Machine Company Inc. has since expanded its manufacturing capabilities to serve the defense, commercial aircraft, and medical diagnostics and implant industries. Mac Machine provides clients like Honeywell, Northrup Grummon, Sandia National Laboratories, and Zimmer Medical with a variety of precision parts, assemblies and weldments, all designed and produced at its 20,000-sq-ft facility in Baltimore, Maryland.
DHF 8000ST Five-Axis Machining Center
The nodding head spindle and direct-drive B-axis rotary table allow the DHF 8000ST to handle a complete range of machining and turning processes from roughing to finishing in a single setup. This ability to attack parts from all sides provides increased parts accuracy. In addition, the configuration makes quick work of multi-face workpieces and the 5-axis simultaneous machining of complex shapes.
FORTiS Enclosed Linear Absolute Encoders
The FORTiS design is built upon industry-proven RESOLUTE™ encoder technology and provides high resistance to the ingress of liquids and solid debris contaminants. It features an extruded enclosure with longitudinally attached interlocking lip seals and sealed end caps. The readhead body is joined to a sealed optical unit by a blade, which travels through the lip seals along the length of the encoder.
ZeroAct Workpiece Positioning System
With an ultralow profile of 40 mm and extremely flat design, ZeroAct is ideal for any zero-point application especially those where the z-axis travel of the spindle is critical. The ZeroAct features rapid open and closing of the modules and simultaneous actuation with one simple twist of the wrist generating 15kN clamp force. Easily actuate workpieces onto a table or adapter with a low stack-up of 38.1 mm greatly increasing the z-axis travel.
Athena Voice Assistant
Athena was initially launched by iTSpeeX, LLC in the spring of 2018. Since then, the voice assistant—who interacts with machine tool operators via a machine's existing control screen or a separate display—has expanded to include over 500 commands designed to make machine operators more independent and more productive. She is able to listen to voice commands, provide instructional content, perform complex machine functions quickly and walk through vital checklists.
