BLS: U.S. added 28,000 new manufacturing jobs in February
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly employment report, 28,000 new manufacturing jobs were added in the U.S. in February—more than double the January number. Over the past 3 months, manufacturing has added 57,000 jobs.
Global machine tool business set to gain momentum
Economic pundits anticipate global machine tool consumption will increase 2.1 percent in 2017, reaching a market value of $73.6 billion, according to the German Machine Tool Builders' Association, Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The group released the machine tool business data at a March 9 press conference in Chicago for the EMO trade show, which takes place Sept.

25mm Back Working Spindle
IBAG North America announces the new 25mm back working spindle specially designed for Star Swiss-type machines that features 60,000 rpm with grease-packed lubrication and 80,000 rpm with oil mist lubrication. This new HSC (High Speed Cutting) motor spindle is designed for machining applications involving micro milling and drilling tools, as well as engraving and fine milling.
Markit: Global Manufacturing Growth Approaches 6-Year Peak
Worldwide manufacturing business conditions showed the largest improvement for more than five-and-a-half years in February, with global trade expanding at the fastest rate for just under six years and optimism about the future continuing to improve. Manufacturing input prices meanwhile continued to rise markedly, albeit with the rate of increase easing slightly during the month.

United Grinding flexLoad standard automation cell
For machine types STUDER S31 and STUDER S33, United Grinding offers a loader solution featuring a portal loader system with dual grippers. The loader system is said to be suitable for shaft components up to a part length of 300mm and a grip diameter of 4mm to 75mm, which covers the majority of the spectrum of parts produced on these machines, according to United Grinding North America.
