Photo-Etched Flexures for Automotive GDi Systems
The growth in the GDi market is staggering. In 2008 it was estimated that about 2% of cars built incorporated this technology, but recent predictions suggest that by 2020, 25% will include GDi systems as standard. This is great news for Precision Micro, the photo-etching specialist, which supplies photo-etched flexures used in GDis systems and this is stimulating major growth in the company.

Tiger Ceramic is a maximum performance line of cutting, grinding and combination wheels that delivers an enhanced combination of product life and cut rate to help users maximize time on the job in a range of metal fabrication applications.
SS207-5AX LaserSwiss
Tsugami Automation and Tsugami/Rem Sales offer their newest LaserSwiss, an SS207-5AX LaserSwiss with an integrated welding system. The 20 mm, 7-axis CNC machine integrates two SPI laser systems, one for cutting operations and a second one for welding.
KHP3 Hydraulic Pump
Kurt's new KHP3 hydraulic pump is powered by normal shop air versus an electric motor. The pump uses 30 to 100 psi input pressure and sustains up to 4,000 psi of constant pressure for use with all Kurt hydraulic vises.
Modular System G2612/2622 Deep Grooving and Parting Tools
Walter has introduced the Walter Cut—Modular System G2612/2622, new SX system tools for deep grooving and parting operations that reportedly save time and cost. Suitable for all machine types, and for grooving and parting-off ranging from small to large diameters, the system allows users to simply replace the module to change to a different operation or insert size, without removing the holder from the machine.

Manufacturers to Ohio: Jobs are Coming
Ohio is soon to benefit from new job-creating investments by a number of major manufacturers. The Dayton Business Journal reports that companies including General Motors, Navistar International and Whirlpool have announced projects that will add to the 885,539 manufacturing jobs the Buckeye State currently boasts.
Lever-Type Dial Test Indicators
Mitutoyo America Corp. announces the release of lever-type dial test indicators with increased durability, sensitivity and readability. A wide array of styli and ruby tips allows for probing of many applications. Stylus length is marked on the dial face to assist customers when ordering replacement styli.
Force Gauge
American Workholding Inc. offers Force Gauge, an effective, lightweight, mostly hand-held, direct-reading gauge. It gives an operator, setup man or quality control individual an instant and accurate reading of actual lbs/tonnage force data for many shop floor situations.
Yaw-Tilt Rotary System
IntelLiDrives Inc. offers the yaw-tilt rotary system. The integrated 2-axis rotary assembly provides high-speed micromachining capabilities for complex 3D part geometries and for general testing, purpose pointing, scanning and tracking applications for small optics, antennae and other sensors.
µV5 (micro V5) Micro Milling Machine
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Machine Tool Co. Ltd. has developed the "µV5" (micro V5) micro milling machine, the latest in its µV (micro V) series. The µV5 has a bigger working surface table and wider process stroke than the current µV1, allowing for high-efficiency machining with micrometer-level (1/1,000 mm) precision for large products or those that require fine milling using small diameter tools, such as molds for car optical components.
