She began her role as president of AB Sandvik Coromant in Sandviken, Sweden, nearly two years ago, but Helen Blomqvist started working at the toolmaker as a research engineer about two decades ago.
MX-System
As a modular control cabinet replacement that can also be decentralized on the machine if required, the MX-System saves engineering, assembly, installation and maintenance efforts. This promotes highly efficient processes for the manufacturers and operators of machines and systems – from the planning, setup and installation of the MX-System through to the maintenance of MX-System-equipped machines.
FormControl X
While the previous FormControl version (without the "X") was based on a scenario in which a machine operator works at a machine with the laptop and processes the measurements at the same time, the trend today is moving toward automating such processes, meaning this 1:1 relationship is now fairly rare. Genuine automation of workpiece measurement also opens up completely new areas of application. That is why the goal with FormControl X was to enable real measurement automation on the basis of a modern client-server architecture – this means moving away from pure logging and towards process integration and automation with the help of the measurement data collected by the software.n
MERLIC 5.2
MERLIC 5.2 is a logical continuation of the approach taken since MERLIC 5, namely to provide customers with the latest deep learning features that are also easy to use. Global Context Anomaly Detection is now being added to the proven deep learning functions Anomaly Detection and Classification (from MERLIC 5) and Deep OCR (from MERLIC 5.1).
Mitsubishi Electric’s products for a resilient, sustainable future
Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc. exhibited innovative solutions for a resilient and sustainable future at IMTS. The company previewed its enhanced CNC controller, the M800V/M80V Series, which is currently slated for an early 2023 release in the Americas.
MarSurf CD 140 AG 11
MarSurf CD 140 AG 11 features an automated calibration routine for probe arms and a flexible workpiece holder that makes it easy to handle. Automatic tracing force selection assures the proper force is used when replacing several stylus tips. Operators can choose from a comprehensive range of clamps and workpiece holders, and this versatile machine can also be used to obtain roughness measurements (Rz>2µm).
FlexiumPro CNC Platform
FlexiumPro's Real-Time Kernel (RTK) hosts an embedded Codesys V3 PLC and a CNC unit. Based on a multi-core ARM processor, the RTK is implemented using advanced system-on-chip (SoC) technology. The tightly integrated nature of this technology helps to significantly reduce the component count, resulting in improved system reliability and compactness. The single-board and fan-less design of the RTK unit is only 25 mm wide.
ECO Suite Plus
ECO suite plus builds upon the prior technology releases by providing management and control of specific machine operations and peripheral devices during the machining process and in idle mode. Both the Thermo-Friendly Concept and ECO technologies are powered by Okuma's proprietary OSP control, a Windows-based, open-architecture platform which offers maximum machining capabilities to users.
Vantage Max Laser Trackers
The Vantage Max enables organizations to increase their throughput while maintaining high inspection accuracy with an attractive 3D metrology option that expands upon the proven track record of the FARO Vantage series. The trackers maximize 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) measurement capabilities via the optional 6Probe, enabling precise measurement of hidden areas and small features.
GENOS M560V-5AX Machining Center
The GENOS M560V-5AX is built with a double-column machine design, affording it maximum structural integrity. The machine offers an impressive working envelope with a 500mm table and wide axis travels (X: 1,050 mm, Y: 560 mm, Z: 460 mm), while still maintaining a compact footprint of 2,515 mm x 3,750 mm. Further optimizing the machine's design, the GENOS M560V-5AX includes a trunnion table positioned parallel to the front of the machine which allows for easier access to the table and good visibility during machining.
Renishaw showcases factory-of-the-future technologies
Global engineering technologies company Renishaw demonstrated at IMTS its latest metrology and manufacturing equipment that the company says will help customers digitalize their processes.
ProShop SAFE
ProShop SAFE is a managed encrypted file store (end to end, and at rest) that securely and seamlessly translates into the browser experience. User-definable File Access Security Groups (FASG) within the User Module of ProShop enable security administrators to define permissions of all folders and files within the file store, and provide read/write/execute, or forbid access, to any configuration of approved folders, subfolders, and files.
