The arm provides an optimal leverage position with a consistent application of force. It also offers more clearance over the table for broaching and pressing large items. Ask The Experts: Indexable Inserts
Cutting Tool Engineering's April 2022 issue includes a feature article about double-sided inserts and high-feed indexable insert milling tools that can help reduce production costs. 24 DrillMeister DMH Drill Heads
The DMH drill head geometry is designed to protect drill corners and provide effective chip evacuation, making the drill head suited for applications that involve drilling holes through thin plates. The increased cutting edge strength resists thin-plate snapback and wear from exit burrs, preventing drill edges from fracture damage during machining for minimum machine downtime. The strong cutting edge also makes the DMH drill head suitable for drilling extremely hard metals.
CTCP115-P (ISO P15), CTCP125-P (ISO P25), CTC135-P (ISO P35) Insert Grades
To prevent insert waste and easily detect wear, the gold-colored TiN outer layer of the Dragonskin multilayer CVD Ti(C,N)/Al2O3/TiN coating acts as an indicator. It not only enables users to clearly identify insert wear and index before a breakage, but also prevents sharp cutting edges from going unused and the insert being inadvertently discarded. Plus, a mechanical post-coating treatment produces beneficial residual stress in the coating that results in increased process security, especially important in the large-volume production situations typically associated with turning ISO-P steels.

With filtration to 50 microns, the machine sump remains free of contaminants, pumps are protected from damage, and only clean coolant recirculates through the machining process. This reduces maintenance costs, extends both tooling and coolant life and improves machine uptime.
