Episode 75: Rough start with electroplated wheel

Okuma demos 3D manual feed function
Okuma America Corp. demonstrates the 3D manual feed function with the OSP-P300M control in a video posted to the company's YouTube channel on Jan. 10. The video presents a 3D manual operation that reportedly allows the user to follow the tool axis direction with the rotary axes.
HS8 Series Dual-Chamber Furnace
Lucifer Furnaces Inc. has designed and delivered a dual-chamber furnace ideal for heat treating high-speed steels. The HS8 series, built with rugged 12-gauge sheet steel and reinforced throughout, heats to 2,450° F in the upper chamber with silicon-carbide heating elements mounted across the roof and below the hearth.

Stewart Palmer, an engineer at family-owned North Bucks Machining Ltd., Milton Keynes, U.K., said the small parts manufacturer designed and produced its Alpha mountain bike to showcase the shop's capabilities using its existing machines and software.

Erwin Junker Machinery Inc. is extending an open invitation to visit its showroom in Elgin, Ill. The company is showcasing grinding machines from JUNKER and Zema, as well as industry leading air filtration units from LTA Industrial Air Cleaning Systems Inc.
IDC: Worldwide spending on robotics to reach $188 billion in 2020
Robot use is set to accelerate: Worldwide spending on robotics and related services will more than double by 2020, growing from $91.5 billion in 2016 to more than $188 billion in 2020, according to the newly updated Worldwide Commercial Robotics Spending Guide from International Data Corporation (IDC).
