Machine tool demonstrates ability to cut composite material
A Diversified Machine Systems 5-Axis Enclosed Large Format Overhead Gantry CNC Router with continuous C-Axis rotation demonstrates its ability to cut out a composite component. Diversified Machine Systems arranged the test cut to demonstrate the machine's accuracy and efficiency for a customer who recently visited the company's headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Following the main presentation, titled "Technologies & Strategies for Composite Drilling, Routing and Trimming," CTE Publisher Don Nelson held a brief Q&A session with questions submitted by the audience.
Okuma holds tech showcase
Machine tool builder Okuma America Corp. hosted more than 500 customers, partners and distributors at its 2014 Technology Showcase event December 9-10 at its Charlotte, N.C., headquarters. The event featured learning opportunities for attendees, including hands-on demonstrations, a facility tour highlighting titanium machining at the new Aerospace Center for Excellence, and a look at Okuma's electrical and mechanical repair operations.
Mikron expands tooling line with DC Swiss products
Mikron Corp. Monroe, based in Monroe, Conn., has added a new product family to its line of cutting tools. Tapping and threading tools from the DC Swiss company are now available directly from inventory at Mikron Corp. DC Swiss has been selected due to its specialized knowledge and decades-long experience in threading technology, according to Mikron.
Miyachi donates laser marker
Miyachi America Corp., Monrovia, Calif., a manufacturer of welding, marking, cutting and micromachining equipment, donated an LMF2000 fiber laser marker along with related safety equipment to Workshops for Warriors (WFW), a nonprofit organization that provides vocational training to returning, wounded and disabled veterans of the U.S. Armed Services.

Industrial surplus reseller Industrial Surplus Solutions Inc., St. Charles, Ill., has launched www.toolingmarketplace.com, an online resource for buying and selling surplus cutting tools.
Marposs acquires FL Tool Holders
Measurement and control manufacturer Marposs S.p.A., Bologna, Italy, has acquired FL Tool Holders LLC of Livonia, Mich., a manufacturer of tooling and gaging products for the automotive, aerospace, marine and off-road manufacturing industries.

Miyachi America Corp. announces its new IS-800CR and IS-1400CR mid-frequency inverter power supplies.
HACO-FLEX Regenerator
The HACO-FLEX regenerator is not a new product," says Peter Haefeli, coowner of long-established grinding tools manufacturer Haefeli, when asked how long the product has been on the market. "Although this exceptionally practical tool has been part of our range for almost 50 years, it looks a bit different these days and is now even more effective."
