G4014-P Grooving Tool Holder
The G4014-P groove turning holder makes it possible to change inserts in the machine – even where space is limited—in particular on long center lathes and multi-spindle machines. As a result, changing inserts is approximately 70% faster.
ACU-RITE Software Upgrade
This free upgrade promises to assist all users of current model ACU-RITE digital readouts to be more productive and efficient in their manufacturing, as well as continuing its tradition of ease-of-use. ACU-RITE's current family of DROs include models 100, 200 and 300. The new software version is titled "v1.4.0.
TungTurn-Jet System
The TungTurn-Jet system strategically directs the internal coolant jet exactly where it is needed, close to the cutting point on the insert rake face. This dramatically improves chip control during the machining of difficult-to-cut materials, which is not the case with conventional coolant delivery methods. Additionally, the other coolant jet is fed from the bottom to minimize flank wear for increased insert life and productivity.
SNG Coolant-Through Holders
Designed for the internal grooving of bores with diameters as small as 8.0 mm (.315″) up to 24.0 mm (.945″), while promising reliable chip evacuation. The shanks are made of either steel for economy or tungsten carbide for long reach areas where tool steadiness is vital. Virtually eliminate chip nests, reducing part scraps and machine downtimes, while improving machining efficiency.
AxiCheck Software
AxiCheck helps increase production capacity by quickly and accurately inspecting the state of health of the machine, allowing users to identify and correct errors that may impact the workpiece, as well as planning maintenance operations in advance. Get ready for equipment as a service
With the arrival of Industry 4.0, a new business model is emerging for how part manufacturers acquire machine tools: equipment as a service (Eaas). Graham Immerman, vice president of marketing for Northampton, Massachusetts-based MachineMetrics Inc., effectively covers this topic in his new 12-page ebook/white paper titled "Equipment-as-a-Service: A Brave New World for Machine Tool Builders." In an interview with CTE, he said, "Instead of buying a machine and fully financing it or paying cash, you can pay as you use it."
Vollmer of America to host an open house
Vollmer of America broke ground on May 11, 2019, at its new location in Findlay Township, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh International Airport. The new 30,000-sq.-ft. building is in its finishing stages and the Vollmer team is getting ready to move to the new facility. Vollmer has announced the dates for its Open House Celebration Oct. 22-23, 2020, at the new building.
