A concentration of 0.5% VpCI-649 BD may be all that is needed to inhibit corrosion inside the tooling cooling water system. As time passes, this concentration may change as water is lost. Workers should therefore periodically monitor the water (e.g., by the molybdate tracer or refractometer) to make sure the right level of VpCI®-649 BD remains. Additional water or VpCI-649 BD can be added as needed to maintain the proper concentration of corrosion inhibitor for protection.

Madison Chemical introduces RP GOLD, a versatile water-based rust preventive that provides long-term indoor storage protection for ferrous and copper alloys. Applied to previously cleaned parts by immersion, manual spray or recirculated spray methods, RP GOLD leaves a nearly invisible, dry-to-the-touch film that provides up to four weeks of protection (or longer when used at higher concentrations).

What is the main purpose for coolant application? Of course, among many reasons, primarily it’s for the lubrication and cooling of the cutting edge and, in addition, to help facilitate chip evacuation. REGO-FIX has launched a cost-effective and efficient attachment for the application of coolant-lubrication liquids through the tool, based on an ER collet nut, which is suitable for use on SUHNER feed drilling units.

JTM Products Inc. has announced a new line of full synthetic metalworking coolants. SynMAX coolants benefit from a radically different chemistry to exceed the performance of semisynthetic fluids but without oil and without the historical drawback of past generations of synthetics. The result for operators is maximized machining output yielding more parts per hour while machining steel, aluminum and difficult-to-machine alloys.

Klϋber Lubrication introduces Klübersynth GE 14-151, a special grease for highly loaded small gears like those found in power tools. This product consists of a finely balanced combination of ester and synthetic hydrocarbon base oils with an aluminum complex soap thickener. Klübersynth GE 14-151 has a wide service temperature range, good wear protection properties and a high scuffing load capacity. It also offers excellent protection against tribocorrosion.

Cortec Corp. has developed a simple water treatment for use in cooling systems where low conductivity or low sodium products are required. Based solely on organic components, VpCI-648 does not contain nitrites or any halogen counter ions. At recommended dosages, VpCI-648 does not significantly contribute to the conductivity of water systems. VpCI-648 protects both ferrous metals and copper.

The Surface Treatment global business unit of the Coatings division of BASF, operating under the Chemetall brand, advances the standards with two new products, Tech Cool 35058 and Tech Cool 35037. These metalworking coolants join the innovative and award-winning Tech Cool line of metalworking fluids for metal fabricators.

Regulatory constraints, but also operator well-being, encourage industrials to develop increasingly neutral solutions for the working environment. For many years, CONDAT has been committed to finding healthier products and innovates by offering soluble lubricants based on renewable, boron-free raw materials without formalin, chlorine, DEA, DCHA or silicone releasing agents.
