The UltraTEC ultrasonic A25 creates a formation and dissolution/implosion of bubbles in water that release an intense energy during implosion. These bumpers are available in “off-the-shelf” sizes, as well as special cut to custom requirements. Bumpers are most often used in material handling, assembly and manufacturing operations to guide, stop and support parts as they are moved and transferred. The AA3100 series is designed as a drop-in replacement for hydraulic or pneumatic actuators. These legacy approaches waste excess energy and floorspace required for compressors, while adding costly and complex mechanical components. In the case of pneumatics, they can leak and create messes on the plant floor. To simplify replacement of these devices, the AA3100 devices leverage an ISO 15552 flange size and bolting points on both sides as well as an external thread mount on the shaft end of the spindle to mount ball heads, clamping hooks or other common adapters.

The use of 8620 ensures that the components will work harden over time, rather than becoming brittle as is the case with the use 9310 alloy steel. Single point threading ensures that the threads are balanced (lead-in/lead-out at 180 degrees) which is very difficult to achieve when rolling threads.  Full depth is also attained for each thread. Because all machining is done with a single set-up, concentricity is achieved.

The core components of the machine stayed the same. The spindle columns were repositioned to replace the gantry mechanism. This one change allowed for several previous components to be removed, making the machine more open and maintenance-friendly. The main change is that we have incorporated a Fanuc robot within the machine for the movement of parts.

The hydrostatically guided linear slide units are characterised by high reliability, long-term availability and low service costs. Since these properties exist independently of the service life, the machine end-customer can produce more effectively and economically in the long term.

Utilizing ANCA’s machine platforms with a robot cell, blanket grinding offers flexibility across a range of tool sizes and applications. Blanket grinding allows for full automation of tools of similar geometries, by consolidating all tool grinding processes into one single machine. A batch of complete finished tools can be produced without interruption directly from lengths of ground bar stock with no operator intervention.

The MOTIACT mechatronic gripper series is the ideal solution for performing precise, consistent, and accurately monitored gripping operations for moving parts, pallets, and chucks in and out of CNC machines and automated work cells. These first-in-class grippers are equipped with an incremental measuring system to guarantee adjusting gripping pressure, linear positioning, and speed control as standard features. All models feature a Profinet or I/O link interface to ensure seamless integration into existing systems.

With the synchro-use dual actuators, the two carriages move toward each other when the handle shaft is turned clockwise. The two carriages move away from each other when the handle shaft is turned counterclockwise. As with the standard linear actuators, they can be used with simple manual adjustments without complex processes of parts selection, design and assembly. The internal parts, as well, are protected from dust by an aluminum profile body and dustproof sheet.

The combination finishing machine is really two machines in one because it can handle a multitude of jobs that include contour part finishing, flat stock finishing, polishing, grinding and deburring—virtually any finishing operation. The belt arm adjusts vertically, horizontally and any position in-between.

The link between the physical gearbox and the digital world is established via a data matrix code (DMC), a 2D code on the gearbox nameplate. This can be scanned via smartphone or tablet, for example. Alternatively, access is possible via a web portal on the Neugart homepage (www.neugart.com).

WDS’ clevis fork brackets enable ISO 6432 actuators to connect and drive a host of machinery or devices. Available in 6 mm and 8 mm bracket pin sizes, three connection styles are available. The ultrashort pulse laser marks in the deepest, matt and non-reflective black without generating significant heat input on the workpiece. SINAMICS G220 is the first drive to join the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, the Siemens-wide business platform for digital transformation. SINAMICS G220 drives are an integral part of the TIA Portal and feature a digital twin in Startdrive, the drives commissioning tool from Siemens. This allows the behavior of the drive to be tested and optimized before the hardware is available. SINAMICS G220 has an integrated web-server for commissioning which eliminates the need to install software or an app on a PC or mobile device. This saves time and makes drive setup very intuitive and extremely user-friendly.

Easy setup is assured with the electronic type plate on the 1FL2 motor and one-button tunning in the S200 drive. The integrated brake resistor and integrated holding brake control add to the functions in the S200 servo-drive. High durability is designed in with the coated circuit boards (3C2) in the S200 and IP65 motors with metal connection solution. Built-in under-voltage protection is further provided.

SINAMICS S210 offers DC link coupling on 3-phase units for increased power efficiency on multi-axis applications. Corresponding SIMOTICS highly efficient synchronous motors feature high-resolution 22- or 26-bit absolute encoders, single or multi-turn. Metal parts packaged in Eco-Corr Film® receive ongoing protection against salt, excessive humidity, condensation, moisture, and aggressive industrial atmospheres. In addition to serving as a physical barrier to the elements and inhibiting corrosion on metals in direct contact with the film, Eco-Corr Film® also contains Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitors that vaporize and then condense on all accessible metal surfaces within the enclosed package to interrupt the corrosion reaction between metal, oxygen, and an electrolyte.

Dia-Strip and Dia-Sheet lapping and polishing film incorporates pure virgin diamond powders in their highest concentrated forms. This slows for maximum material strength, durability, and performance. The powders are first expertly graded for uniformity, and then held into place by a thin nickel. With this approach, 90% of the grains are left exposed for cutting, yet are unable to escape the film due to the strength of the bonding agent. This unique construction makes Dia-Sheets and Dia-Strips highly durable, yet also flexible, bendable, and formable. 

STUDER has brought two new cylindrical grinding machines to the North American market with the release of the S100 and S36. BLOHM continues its tradition of customer-centric surface and profile grinding innovation with the release of the PLANOMAT XT Essential. WALTER is focused on packing more tool grinding functionality into a compact space with the new HELITRONIC G200 and HELITRONIC MINI PLUS.

The Reliable Uberlight comes in black or white and 3 styles: with a convenient clamp mount to easily mount on any machinery or worktable, with a 7.75” base to prevent tipping, or a direct table mount, (black only, shown below. With its 26.5” silicone gooseneck and 270 degree rotational head the Reliable Uberlight  allows light precisely where needed with a  great hold. The 4.75” LED panel does not create glare or flickering and provides up to 60,000 hours of use and 240% more luminous efficiency.  All provided with a 6’ USB cord and adapter.

With the ANCA RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) regrinding solution, tools of various types and diameters and from different orders can be dynamically loaded, rather than having to sort them by diameter or customer as was previously necessary in mixed batches.

The bumpers, commonly identified as RB-516 come in a variety of mounting options such as tapped hex shoulder and threaded, stud mount, and steel plate mounted. They come in black neoprene, white nitrile, or colored urethane. Diameters sizes run from ¾ in. to 2 ¼ in. with metric sizes available from 19-57 mm.

Data from all gauges in the Q-Span System – including thread gauges, robotic calipers, LVDT probes, drop gauges, bore gauges, laser micrometers, vision system, 2D telecentric profilers, and more – is combined into one convenient output for statistical process control (SPC).  Data from any or all gauges can be used in real time for in-process decision making and process monitoring.  

During the rebuild process, AP&T technicians disassemble and thoroughly examine the press. They replace worn parts and outdated systems and components before reassembling the press and performing a test run and safety check. All exchanged parts are covered by AP&T's new-part warranty.

The cell has a 6-Axis FANUC M-10iD/12 Robot with 4.7' (1,441 mm) reach, capable of handling a maximum load of 26.5 lbs (12 kg). The GRC-R12 features a pneumatic single-or double-gripper system. The drawer feed system can have up to six drawers that can be unloaded and reloaded while the robot cell and machining center are in operation. With GROB’s unique machine design, excellent chip control inside the machining center allows for long periods of unmanned operation without faults. Offering high customizability, customers may select from capabilities such as a blowoff box, SPC drawer and an alignment station.

DESTACO has designed its cobot tooling solutions for simplicity and ease of use with off-the-shelf availability via kits that feature all of the end-user selected accessories, along with the hardware and tools needed for installation, reducing the need to consult an application engineer. All of the tooling solutions are compatible with cobots that have an ISO 9409-1-50-4-M6 end-of-arm mounting pattern.  Blank robot and tool plates are offered for those who wish to use their own mounting patterns.

The Truing Parameters Calculator is the result of a 3-year collaboration between Rush Machinery, the International Grinding Institute, and Dr. Jeffrey Badger, the ‘Grinding Doc’. Rush Machinery commissioned the project that was later presented at the 2008 CIRP General Assembly in Tokyo by Dražumerič, Badger, Klement, and Krajnik titled “Truing of Diamond Wheels–Geometry, Kinematics and Removal Mechanisms,” published in the CIRP Annals, volume 57, pages 345-348.

WDS Components’ castor range extension includes a new stud fitting design with an M12 size threaded shaft that extends installation flexibility. The dual gripper system on the versaLoad allows manufacturers to reduce part loading times by as much as 50% when compared to a single gripper setup. There are two stocked and standard product offerings where gundrills are delivered within 24 hours of the order. The SFGD Express program is for Single Flute Gundrills in diameters from 0.1250” - 0.7500” (3.175mm - 19.050mm) and lengths up to 48” (1219mm). The SCGD Express program is for Single Flute Solid Carbide Gundrills with standard ½” steel shanks in diameters from 0.0355”- 0.1969” (0.902mm - 5.000mm) in lengths from 4”- 12” (102mm - 305mm), depending on the tool diameter.  

Among the additions are new models of the company’s Carbide Micro Grinding Mandrels for optimized precision micro machining accuracy and performance. Carbide Micro Grinding Mandrels are compatible for use with Tungsten Carbide, fiberglass, stone, marble, ferrite, composites, non-ferrous metals, industrial ceramics, rubber, reinforced plastics, glass, and other hard abrasive materials. Offered in both Diamond and Borazon Jig types, the grinding mandrels are further available with a choice of either 500/600 or 325/400 grit, as well as either a 0.016”, 0.020”, or 0.02” head size.

Electrak XD linear actuators are available immediately as a compact, fully integrated unit, including the motor, drive, IP-rated housing, control architecture, diagnostic features and more. The end result is a "plug and play" actuator that saves the designer money and time.

Waterjet cutting works as simply as it is effective: the cutting head directs a fine jet of water at high pressure of up to 6,000 bar, a jet diameter of 0.38 to 1.02 millimeters. In this stress-free cutting process, the material particles close to the surface are cut off without any heat being introduced into the material. This process is an optimal solution for temperature-sensitive and thick materials with complex geometries.

The compact stainless steel adjustable bracket can be installed into a customer’s process. Operations requiring both hands to package, test or assemble parts now remain static free. The nozzle is equipped with an LED indicator to assure proper functionality while employing EXAIR-engineered air nozzles to maximize efficiency and meet OSHA requirements for sound level and dead-end pressure. Made from durable static dissipative polycarbonate and featuring a non-marring nozzle, the Intellistat assures its usefulness in applications such as PCB or electronics manufacturing.

The RFID transponders are available as freely writeable and preconfigured versions. A transparent window on the PITreader card enables users to still read the LED status indicator when the card is held up to it. If the company already uses RFID-capable cards, these can also be used in conjunction with PITreader card unit. In this case, users need only one card for multiple functions.

Thomson compact linear systems are appropriate for applications requiring high-accuracy linear axes in confined spaces, such as 3D printers, microscope stage managers, medical pipetting systems and semiconductor manufacturing. They are available with NEMA motor sizes between 14 and 23; stroke lengths of up to 40 in (1000 mm); and load capacities up to 2091 lbs (9300 N).

Quick release clamp fasteners help increase productivity by reducing set up times, eliminating errors in assembly and installation and simplifying procedures. They are ideal for frequent set ups, regularly or to reconfigure production equipment. Most specifically, these fasteners may be used in automation to attach conveyors, star wheels, guide plates, shooters, pushers, handling machine chucks, rotary blades and maintenance covers on machines, to name just a few applications. The clamps offer locating repeatability to +/- 0.1 mm.

With CenterMaster, the user simply clamps a radio dial gauge into the workspace and sets it to the quill. The gauge and machine wirelessly communicate, automatically adjusting the holder along the X axis. The system then guides the operator through adjusting the Y axis via the machine’s touchscreen display.

There are two types of levers available for the E-Xtreme series enclosures. The standard C-type lever is made of a stainless-steel frame and polyamide handle, and it provides an IP65/IP66 protection degree. The E-Xtreme enclosures with the C-type lever are ideal for environments with salt mist, ultraviolet rays, corrosive chemicals, and frequent mating. The V-type lever is ideal for environments with higher humidity levels, lower temperatures with ice, and salt mist because it provides better waterproofing with IP66/IP67 protection rating thanks to its vertical closing movement. Also, the V-type lever is also more resistant to shocks, fire, and chemicals because the lever is made of full stainless steel without using any plastic components.

Today’s MAX System introduces the latest innovation known as Focused Deburring. These multi-axis machines feature up to four 1- to 5-axis heads or towers, which can process simultaneously or in sequence within a single working environment. This ability allows the machines to perform multiple operations on many edges and surfaces of a part at the same time. For example, a single MAX System can remove a protruding burr from an 8” spur gear, create a precision .060” chamfer on both sides of the same gear, and wash the part within 30 seconds.

The PS2000 variants combine high-performance power supply units from Beckhoff with the ultra-fast EtherCAT communication standard. This allows the control system to directly process extensive measurement data and internal device diagnostics information and establish remote access to power supplies. It also provides advanced monitoring features for the DC output (for system monitoring) or the AC input (for source monitoring).

The unit uses multiple spray nozzles on its circumference, providing a steady and pressurized stream. Each nozzle can be plugged or opened to create customized spray patterns. Added spindle rotation ensures that coolant reaches virtually everywhere inside the machine. Residing in the tool changer, and programmed just as any other, the Jergens Washdown Tool is deployed periodically at scheduled intervals. This automation shortens cleaning time and supports long machining cycles, even lights out manufacturing periods when no operator is present.

Both die grinders feature RAPIDSTOP™ Brake for enhanced user safety, stopping most accessories in less than two seconds. Combining three exclusive innovations - the POWERSTATE™ brushless motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery pack, and REDLINK PLUS™ intelligence- these new die grinders provide users with the versatility and performance needed to remove material faster than a corded die grinder. 

Using Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) technology, the bubbles protect a variety of metals, including carbon steel, aluminum, copper, brass, silver and stainless steels, without leaving film or residue on packaged items. CorShield® Bubble Bags are non-toxic and recyclable. Components that need  protection are placed in the bags and in matter of hours, the vapor from the VpCI® bubbles saturates the enclosed airspace.

The miniature lead screw line is available with either standard or anti-backlash lead nuts to optimize positional accuracy, friction and repeatability. The anti-backlash lead nut design reduces friction between the nut and screw threads in order to optimize efficiency while still eliminating play between the lead screw and nut. 

The swivel feet with a steel double bolt down base includes two screw holes enabling secure surface attachment. The threaded female design accepts inserts from M6 up to M16 while the foot diameter varies from 40mm to 100mm. The swivel joint allows 50° forward and backwards tilt across a 360° horizontal plane, providing flexible installation whatever the floor angle. This design is manufactured in durable steel with a nickel plating to resist corrosion and provide a bright finish.

XPlanar now provides greater traceability through ID technology integrated into the mover bumper. The ID functionality enables unique identification of XPlanar movers by reading the mover’s individual serial number. The ID bumper is easy to mount or retrofit on movers already in the field, and it requires no additional hardware. This solution makes it possible to seamlessly track movers and the products they carry – even after system shutdown and restart. The bumper ID also eliminates the need for homing at system startup with appropriate programming.

KettleTag PLUS EZ is a proven solution that requires NO extra steps.  Fabricators and galvanizers can print this tag, attach it to their steel, and read the barcode on the tag after the steel has been galvanized.  The days of using laminators and cutting tags apart are over, which makes the identification process more efficient for our customers.

Easily retrofitted, the PSS-T300 provides excellent access to the work area while offering space-savings via its tower design. The new pallet storage system offers flexible setup options and can be paired with one or two machines, and configured with one or two setup stations. The PSS-T300 can handle a variety of pallet sizes including Erowa ITS148/ PC210 and GROB standard 320 x 320 mm/ 400 x 400 mm, and has storage capacity of up to 81 round pallets and up to 38 square pallets. For ease of operation, integrated software enables intuitive cell control.

Featuring a powerful, 30-watt fiber laser and a large, 100 x 100 mm marking window, MobiLase® Battery delivers fast and durable laser markings on nearly any material ranging from plastics to steel to precious metals, among many others. The 7-lb. handheld applicator is equipped with a trigger to start marking plus two bracket options for ease of marking various part shapes.

The soft closing design is especially suitable for applications with frequent opening and closing, thanks to the self-extinguishing UL-approved thermoplastic locking lever component that significantly reduces friction and wear when it slides on the pegs. The stainless-steel core then intervenes to ensure higher resistance against various mechanical stresses and vibrations from harsh industrial environments.

Powertite, with its perfect geometric fit, increases load-bearing capacity in the tapped nut thread by over 20 percent compared to screws with trilobular load-bearing cross-section. That creates a series of technical and commercial benefits: standards-compliant tapping torques, plastically stressed assembly even into conical cast core holes in Al-Gd, a preload force similar to metric fastenings, and the possibility of larger core hole tolerances to optimise lightweight metals casting.

The S100 can be configured to meet each customer’s individual needs. It can be equipped with up to two internal grinding spindles, or one internal and one external spindle. In addition to a fixed wheelhead, it can be supplied with a manual wheelhead and a 2.5 degree Hirth coupling. The optimal combination consists of an automatic wheelhead with a 1 degree Hirth. A synchronous motor drives the grease-lubricated internal and external belt spindles. The machine is operated by the FANUC 0i-TF PLUS controller, together with the proven STUDER operating system.

A model with a 304 stainless steel body and ball also adds protection in moisture-prone environments or when facing exposure to more aggressive chemicals.

VGrind 260, VGrind Neon and VGrind Argon – these are the names of the three new tool grinding machines from the sharpening specialist VOLLMER. They were presented for the first time at the GrindingHub 2022 trade fair in Stuttgart.

A start-up company near Chicago designs and fabricates custom tool foam inlays for toolboxes, workstations, travel cases and reusable packaging. Kaiser Manufacturing says its process fills the need for a custom solution that is superior to hand-cut tool foam in both function and appearance.

The S36 has a fixed grinding head, with grinding wheel angles of 0, 15 or 30 degrees available. The distance between centers is 650mm and the maximum workpiece weight is 150kg. Proven components have been used in the machine. These include a Granitan® machine bed and a workhead with high-precision roller bearings.

The new duo of VOLLMER grinding machines designed for machining carbide-tipped circular saw blades, is made up of the CS 860 and CSF 860.

The volume reduction of aluminum, magnesium, copper, brass, steel and other types of metal chips represents a significant cost savings in labor, disposal, transport and storage. Jorgensen/SFH single and double-shaft shredders efficiently reduce chip size in preparation for centrifuging or briquetting. The volume reduction resulting from implementing a shredder also lessens the frequency of bin removal from a machine, giving a shop’s employees additional time to focus on other more productive work. These guide rails are assembled from precisely matched components: linear guide rails GN 2492, the matching cam roller carriages GN 2494 and the separately available wipers of TPU plus the individual rollers with three different bore types. The exceptionally stable guide rails are produced in a rolling process and can be mounted using the typical bore pattern, even up to a rail length of 97.64 in (2480 mm).
